A facelifted version of the Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ has been caught testing in Europe by spy photographers.
With just the front and rear bumpers covered in disguise, it’s clear that this update won’t do anything to drastic to the coupe’s design.
Although this prototype is most likely of the Toyota version, the car is wearing the plainer single bar side vent design that has, so far, only been used on the Subaru’s model.
At the front, the car features a broader air intake, rejigged auxiliary light stack and what could be new internals for the headlights.
Out the rear, there a fiddles to the rear bumper design. The biggest change currently visible relates to the LED tail-lights, which now feature horizontal lines moulded into the cover surface.
We’d be surprised if Toyota and Subaru didn’t upgrade the car’s interior or retune the drivetrain for a little extra performance.
While the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ have all met with critical acclaim, global sales haven’t really set the charts alight. Last year, 14,062 FR-S coupes and 7504 BRZs were sold in the US.
